Sunrise Villa Alvorada is without a doubt one of the best places we have ever stayed. We have stayed in five-star hotels across Texas and in boutique hotels in Costa Rica, and Sunrise Villa outshines them all.

My wife and I came to Portugal for a scouting trip, and Denise made us feel at home within minutes. She even stocked the kitchen with groceries so we could rest after a long journey.

My wife had been ill and disabled for many years, so Denise arranged a hospital bed in the accessible suite that rivalled the one we had at home. The ramps and thoughtful accessibility made our trip truly fantastic.

We fell in love with Portugal and decided to move here. After my wife passed away, Denise helped me through the grieving process, guided me to buy a car and land, and supported me as I began building a house. I still stay at Sunrise Villa whenever I visit Vila Nova de Poiares, and soon I will be Denise's neighbour.

We had the best time staying at Denise's place! From the start, she gave us super clear directions that made getting there a breeze. The house was spotless and had everything we could possibly need. It really felt like a home away from home.

One of our favourite things was the map she put together with tons of local spots to check out: restaurants, activities, hidden gems etc. It made exploring so fun and easy.

Denise was also incredibly helpful and always checked in to see if we needed anything, which we really appreciated. You can tell she puts a lot of care into making sure her guests have a great experience. We honestly loved every minute and would 100% stay here again!

We had such a wonderful stay! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The space is spotless, beautifully maintained, and extremely cozy — everything you could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. It truly feels like a little paradise.

What truly makes this place special, though, is the host. She is exceptionally kind, generous, and attentive, always going above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. Her hospitality really adds a personal touch that you don't often find.

And we cannot forget to mention the co-hosts — Khloe the dog and Noël the cat! They made our stay even more special with their gentle, friendly presence.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would return in a heartbeat. If you're looking for a peaceful, comfortable, and beautifully cared-for place to stay, this is it!

Denise is a great host, super friendly and goes out of her way to make you feel at home. The rooms, the garden, the swimming pool and all the different areas you can sit outside are simply wonderful. You are surrounded by nature, which is exactly what we were looking for. Thanks Denise! We will be back!
